- For birista or fried onions:
- 1 cup thinly sliced onions
- 4 tablespoon oil
- For cooking rice:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 4 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 1 tej patta
- 2 to 3 cloves
- 2 to 3 green cardamoms
- ¼ teaspoon shahjeera
- For paneer marination:
- 200 to 250 grams Paneer
- ½ cup Curd
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon chopped green chilies
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
- ½ tablespoon chopped mint leaves
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon red chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
- ½ teaspoon coriander powder
- ¼ teaspoon shahjeera
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- salt
- Layering ingredients:
- ¼ cup milk
- 16 to 18 saffron strands
- 1 to 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
- ½ tablespoon chopped mint leaves
- 1 tablespoon rose water
