  • 3/4 cup salted butter*
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar lightly packed
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • *If you use unsalted butter then add 1/4 teaspoon of salt:
  • ROYAL ICING:
  • 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 cups powdered / icing sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large pasteurized egg white
