  • 1 to 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon whole cumin seeds
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 4 roasted red bell peppers (I used jarred)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil (optional, I didn't use)
  • 1/2 cup cooked Great Northern beans (optional, if you'd like a creamier, heartier texture)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
