Fried Mozzarella Balls

Ingredients (15)

  • The Mozz Balls:
  • 1 pound mozzarella balls, or chop up mozz into cubes
  • 2 Cups bread crumbs, homemade if possible
  • 4 sprigs fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloved, diced
  • 1/2 Cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Oil for frying (Canola or vegetable)
  • The Sauce: (I adapted this because I couldn't find any really stellar fresh tomatoes.):
  • 1 15 ounce can fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1/2 Medium onion, diced
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3-4 dried Arbol peppers or 1 Teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Kosher salt and fresh pepper
